Composing and performing with the Linux Laptop Orchestra, telematic pieces played at once from Buenos Aires and Virginia, and two years of hackathons that brought students from regional HBCUs and minority-serving institutions into creative coding.

L2Ork, the Linux Laptop Orchestra, was founded at Virginia Tech by Ivica Ico Bukvic. It plays instruments built from laptops, motion controllers and its own software, PD-L2Ork. I have composed for it and performed with it many times.
Telematic pieces
On December 6, 2022, students and faculty at UNTREF in Buenos Aires and at Virginia Tech performed Transcontinental Grapevines together, live, each group in its own country. I co-directed the piece with Ico Bukvic and coordinate the first Argentine group of the PD-L2Ork community, at UNTREF. On December 5, 2023, the orchestra premiered Territorio Prismático, a new piece composed by the same Virginia Tech and UNTREF ensemble, at L2Ork’s fall concert.
PD-L2Ork hackathons
For two consecutive years I also organized the PD-L2Ork hackathons, funded by ICAT and ICTAS. The aim was to widen who takes part in creative coding by bringing in students from HBCUs and minority-serving institutions in the region.
